Draft Beer Selection

312 Urban Ale - Goose Island - Chicago Style: Wheat Ale
Inspired by the city of Chicago and densely populated with flavor, 312’s spicy aroma of Cascade hops is followed by a crisp, fruity ale flavor delivered in a smooth, creamy body that's immensely refreshing.
  Alcohol By Volume: 4.2%
Bell's Amber Ale - Kalamazoo, MI Style: Red Ale
Amber Ale deftly balances a mixture of toasted grain & light caramel notes with a range of floral, citrus and herbal hop notes, capped by a clean bitterness. This balance of flavors makes Amber Ale quite versatile as a food pairing option, not to mention being rather tasty in its own right. Whether serving as a jumping point to other styles or as a familiar standby, Amber Ale is central to the Bell’s portfolio.
  Alcohol By Volume: 5.8%
Guinness - Ireland Style: Stout
Guinness is based on the porter style that originated in London in the early 18th century. A distinctive feature is the burnt flavor which is derived from the use of roasted barley.
  Alcohol By Volume: 5.4%
Harp Lager - Ireland Style: Lager
This classic Irish lager has a pleasant buttery sweet aroma. Crisp and dry, Harp finishes remarkably smooth. Harp's distinctive, refreshing taste has earned it six gold medals in the annual Monde Selection beer tasting competition. It is Northern Ireland's number one lager.
  Alcohol By Volume: 5.0%
Lost Continent Double IPA - Idaho Style: IPA
Each batch of Lost Continent is brewed with well over three pounds of hops per barrel in the kettle and another half-pound per barrel of “dry hops” during conditioning. A revised fermentation program has produced a more traditional Double IPA flavor profile--drier, less malty, more hoppy.
  Alcohol By Volume: 8.0%
Radeberger Pilsner - Germany Style: Pilsner
Radeberger was viewed as one of the most eloquent drinks by Germany's nobility. Made in Germany's first brewery to brew exclusively according to the traditional Pilsner art. This expertise gives them a sense of pride and responsibility as keepers of a time honored style.
  Alcohol By Volume: 4.8%
Revolution Anti-Hero IPA - Chicago, IL Style: IPA
An American hop assault for all the ambivalent warriors who get the girl in the end. “Look, I ain't in this for your revolution, and I'm not in it for you, Princess.” This iconic ale features a blend of four hop varieties which creates a crisp bitterness and imparts massive floral and citrus aromas.
  Alcohol By Volume: 6.5%
Smithwick's Irsh Ale - Ireland Style: Irish Ale
A refreshing & clean ruby color Irish Ale with a balance of bitterness from the hops and sweet/malty notes from the malts. It finishes with hints of roast/coffee.
  Alcohol By Volume: 5.0%
Stiegl Goldbrau - Austria Style: Lager
The 12'' original gravity is unparalleled in its even taste and ability to refresh. Mildly hopped, golden in colour, a great head with superb finish. Stiegl Goldbrau is considered to be the world's finest beer by many beer connoisseurs.
  Alcohol By Volume: 4.9%
Tripel Karmeliet - Belgium Style: Tripel
Based on a recipe from 1679 which used wheat, oat and barley. Tripel Karmeliet is a very refined and complex golden-to-bronze brew with a fantastic creamy head. These characteristics derive not only from the grains used but also from restrained hopping with Styrians and the fruity nature (banana and vanilla) of the house yeast. Aroma has hints of vanilla mixed with citrus aromas. Tripel Karmeliet has not only the lightness and freshness of wheat, but also the creaminess of oats together with a spicy lemony almost quinine dryness.
  Alcohol By Volume: 8.4%

Anchor Christmas Ale - San Francisco Style: Spiced Ale
This is the thirty-eighty “Our Special Ale” from the brewers at Anchor. It is sold only from early November to mid-January. The Ale’s recipe is different every year, as the tree on the label, but the intent with which we offer it remains the same: joy and celebration of the newness of life. Since ancient times, trees have symbolized the winter solstice when the earth, with its seasons, appears born a new.
  Alcohol By Volume: 5.5%
beer label
Chimay Red - Belgium Style: Dubble
The first beer to be brewed by the Trappist monks of Chimay. It is noted for its coppery, attractive color. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. Its taste impsrt a silky sensation to the tongue...refreshing with a light tough of bitternes.

The Pub Experience "Craic"

In the small villages that dot Ireland, the pub culture plays an important role in social life: it is the social hub of the community. Half of the magic of Ireland lies in the people, for whom great conversation and good humor are at the very heart of a wonderful culture. For instance, in a town with a population of 1,000, there are often as many as 50 pubs. Village folks don’t sit in front of the television after supper, they meet at the local pub and don’t go home until everyone at the table has politely bought a round.

Craic is an atmosphere that will be different from pub to pub, yet will be the main difference between us and all of the other pubs, restaurants, and bars in town. Craic is not something that you can hold in your hand, nor can you see it on the wall yet, when you walk into a pub and it is there, you can definitely feel it. Craic is the little something extra that is done to make our guests have a great time.

The Irish are well known for their appreciation of good drink. Beer and ale are almost as important to the Irish diet as food, and pub life is a critical aspect of the Irish social culture. Stout, a strong dark, malty-tasting beer, is Ireland’s most popular drink; and Guinness, a name that is synonymous with stout, is a national treasure. Here at the Curragh we guarantee that your pint will be the best around. In recognition of our dedication to pouring the perfect pint, the Curragh has been awarded the Guinness Gold Standard Award for perfect pints!

Thank you for visiting the Curragh Irish Pub and Restaurant and we hope you enjoyed the "Craic".
